Target Participants
Occupational Therapists working with people 3 years and older with disabilities.
Participants are required to complete 10 assessments within 3 months after the course. Upon successfully completing the calibration process, they will receive a Certificate of AMPS Training and Calibration from AMPS Project International.

Learning Objective
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
1) Score AMPS observations of clients of a variety of ages and with different diagnoses
2) Define the concepts of validity and reliability in relation to the AMPS
3) Implement the AMPS as part of a process of implementing occupation-based, client-centred, and occupation-based practice
4) Interpret and document the results of a AMPS observation
5) Plan intervention based on the results of the AMPS
Course Outline
1) Theoretical background to the assessment, administration procedures, motor skills
2) Introduction to process skills, scoring both motor and process skills
3) Intervention planning and implementation of the assessment with a case study
4) Introduction of calibration process
5) Calibration cases, validity and reliability studies, preparation for the live case
6) Practical issues of implementing the assessment, completion of calibration, live case
Trainer
Ms Vicki Lee Hume, B. App. Sci OT, Grad Dip in Gerontology, is currently the Deputy Director of the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre in Adelaide, Australia. Ms Hume has been working at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre since 1995 and the centre offers statewide services for rehabilitation. She has been providing training in AMPS and School AMPS for more than 10 years in many countries across the world.
Ms Agneta Gustafsson, B. Sci in OT, worked as an occupational therapist for more than 7 years before taking up the position as the Manager of Pediatric Habilitation Centre in Boras. The department offers services of habilitation and rehabilitation for children and young person with different types of disabilities. She has been conducting training in various countries for both AMPS and School AMPS since 2005.
